Werner 'Buff' Glombowski

Werner M. "Buff" Glombowski, 77, of Port Huron Township, died Thursday, December 7, 2006 in Port Huron Hospital following a long illness. He was born May 8, 1929 in Port Huron, son of the late Paul J. and Frieda D. (Marschenkowski) Glombowski and was a life long area resident. Buff married Sarah A. Nutt on October 15, 2005 in Port Huron. Buff grew up in the Campau where he attended St. Stephen Church and served as an altar boy. He excelled in sports and was All-State in football and basketball at St. Stephen High School in 1949. The name "Buff" originated while working at Black River Country Club. Buff owned and operated Buff's Auto Wash, Buff's Budget Wash, Buff's Richmond Car Wash and Buff's Pennzoil Ten Minute Oil Changes. He was an outdoor enthusiast, loved going to the Casino and was a member of B.P.O.E. #343. Buff attended and supported all family functions and was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Sarah A. Glombowski of Port Huron Twsp; sons, Michael P. (Lisa) of Clyde; James D. (Laurie) of North Street; Robert W. (Sara) of Jeddo and Paul J. (Angel) of Port Huron. His grandchildren, Chelsea Jo, Lauren Michael, Jaime, Jimmy, Elizabeth, Justin and Kathryn. Sisters, Irene Marigold of Lexington and Noreen (Donald) Eves of St. Clair; step-daughter Judith (Mike) Frantz of Port Huron; five step-grandchildren, one step-great grand child, brother-in-law, Tom (Sue) Nutt of North Street; sister-in-law, Donna Anger of Port Huron and special friend and care giver Nancy Harris of Port Huron. Buff was preceded in death by his brother Gerald P. Glombowski. Memorial services are 11 a.m. Monday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate. Visiting hours are 2-9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Memorials in memory of Buff are requested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
