Rose Palmer

Rose M. Palmer Rhome, TX - Rose M. Palmer, 80, of Rhome Texas, formerly of Port Huron, died Sunday, January 21, 2007 in Rhome TX. She was born October 4, 1926 in Paris Twp., MI and was a lifelong area resident until 1996. She was married to Dwight E. "Pappy" Palmer who preceded her in death on October 26, 1994. Rose was a member of St. Jospeh Church and the Christian Mothers. She was most recently a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur, TX where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a seamstress and enjoyed knitting and crafts. She enjoyed cooking,, canning and homemaking. She also enjoyed traveling and using her computer. Rose loved her children and grandchildren and especially loved young babies. She is survived by her children, Kathleen S. "Sherry" Cowger of Midland, Dwight P. (Karen) Palmer of Woodridge, IL and Shelly M. (Mark) Nichols of Rhome TX; grandchildren, Kristine (Josh) Houghtaling, Gary (Cindy) Cowger, Rob (Wendy) Cowger, Nick Cowger, Derek and Troy Palmer and Leannah and Corbyn Nichols; great-grandchildren, Patience, Julia and Ryan; 4 sisters and 1 brother and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband and her granddaughter, Bethany Cowger. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visiting will be Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the service time at church.
