Mary Baska

Mary Christine "Chris" Baska, 75, of Lexington, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 in Port Huron Hospital following a short illness. She was born October 8, 1931 in Saginaw, daughter of the late Francis and Dorothy (Orr) O'Rourke and had lived in the Blue Water area most of her life. She married Frederick John Baska, he preceded her in death on June 8, 2005. Chris was an L.P.N and worked at Mercy Hospital. She was a member of St. Edward-On-The-Lake Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting. Most of all Chris will be known for the care and love she gave others. She is survived by her sons, Stephen M. (Sharon) Baska of Plato Center, IL, John F. (Debbie) Baska and Fred J. (Donna) Baska both of Fort Gratiot; her grandchildren, L/Cpl. Rowdy U.S.M.C, Riley, Michael, Kristin Ann, Katherine Rene and Chelsea Lynn; sister, Joan Gray of New Baltimore and her loving companion and buddy, Moakie. Funeral services are 10 am Friday in St. Edward-On-The-Lake Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph M. Esper, pastor will officiate. Visitation is 9:30 am Friday at the church.
