George Farley
December 23rd, 1917 to March 1st, 2007
George G. Farley, age 89 of Port Huron, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 1, 2007 in Marwood Nursing and Rehab following a lengthy illness. He was born December 23, 1917 in Almont, son of the late Fred and Gladys (Wickman) Farley. George married the former Dona Jean Schofield. She preceded him in death on October 29, 2005. George served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during W.W.I.I as a Tech Sergeant. He farmed all his life in Almont retiring in 1964. George also served as past president of U.A.W. Local. He is survived by his daughter, Lynda (Ray) Charlebois of Lapeer; son, Steve (Kathey) Farley of Lapeer; daughter, Janet (Mike) Jiminez of Almont; son, Mark Farley and fiancee Debra Hawes of Clio; step-daughters, Brenda (Dale) Benner of Port Huron, Rosemary (David) Standfest of Williamsburg, MI, Dianne (Phillip) Wills of Waverly, TN, Patricia Murdick of Plainwell, MI and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his son Donald Murdick. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Muir Funeral Home of Almont, 138 S. Main St. The Rev. Bill Bixler of First Church Of The Nazarene, Port Huron will officiate. Inurnment of cremains will be in Mt. Avon Cemetery, Rochester at a later date. Visiting hours will be 9 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Local arrangements are by the Karrer-Simpson Funeral.
