Dorothy Dowd

Dorothy G. Dowd, 81, of Port Huron went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 24, 2007 in Marwood Nursing and Rehab. She was born April 18, 1925 in St. Clair, daughter of the late Fred and Grace Morgan. Dorothy married Dennis "Pat" Dowd on August 19, 1950 in Port Huron. She was a life long member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Dorothy enjoyed bowling, socializing with her family, friends and spending time with her grandchildren. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her loving husband Dennis "Pat" Dowd of Port Huron; sons Patrick M. Dowd of Port Huron and Tim S. (Suzie) Dowd of Burtchville; her daughter Colleen A. (Joe) Denczek of Fenton; granddaughters, Nichole and Erin; sisters-in-law, Ellen (George) Bates of Carmel Valley, CA, Sister John the Baptist of Adrian, Sister Margaret Dowd of Port Huron, Ethel Dowd of Port Huron, Joyce Dowd of Orlando, FL, Eileen Dowd of Denver, CO and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Evelyn Anthony, Betty Allen and Wilma Jean Pearson. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Stephen's Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visiting hours are 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Memorials in memory of Dorothy may be given to St. Stephen's Catholic Church or Marwood Nursing & Rehab.
