Erma Pszolka

Erma Emery Pszolka, 87, of Port Huron, died Sunday, November 4, 2007 in Port Huron Hospital after a long illness. She was born August 27, 1920 in Wheatland Township, daughter of the late John and Mary Harris. Erma married Orson Paul Emery December 3, 1937. He died November 2, 1961. She later married George Stephen Pszolka October 29, 1988. He died March 24, 1994. Erma was a long time employee and retiree of Port Huron Paper Co. She also worked at Armak Tape Co. from where she also retired. She was a member of St. Stephen Church. Erma loved crocheting, knitting, sewing and other crafts. She also loved to polka. Her family was her life. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Emery (Dr. Arthur) Yull and JoAnn Marie Waters; grandchildren, Kim (Dr. Dan) Peterson, Kevin (Theresa) Meharg, Krystal (Jim) Dunn, Rene' (John) Rowley, II, Lisa (John) Nabozny, Angie Waters (Ben Delorey); great grandchildren, James David and Zachary Meharg Dunn, Mitchell Grant and Marshal Grahem Meharg, Ashley Rene' Rowley, John Rowley, III, Peyton Marie Rowley and Lily Raquel Peterson and her step-sister, Erma Bennett. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Katherine Fisher and Irene Askar and her brother, Adam Harris. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in St. Stephen Church. Rev. Fr. Brian K. Cokonougher, pastor and Rev. Fr. George Askar, Jr., her nephew, will concelebrate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the church. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials, in Erma's memory may be made to St. Stephen Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
