Charles Holman

Marysville - Charles B. Holman, 78, went to be with the Lord on December 14, 2007 in his home. He was born to Myrtle and Frank Holman on December 10, 1929 in Hazel Park, MI.. He married Nancy Byrnes on April 4, 1969 in Warren, MI. Chuck graduated from the University of Detroit. He served in the U.S. Navy prior to the Korean War, stationed at the U.S. Naval Air Station, Saufley Field, Pensacola, FL. He then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He served with the 112th Infantry Regiment of the 28th Division in Heilbronn, Germany. After his service to his country, Chuck worked for Chevrolet Central Office in Detroit. He held many supervisor and management positions in the material and inventory control departments. Chuck completed his career with Chevrolet - General Motors at the St. Louis, MO Assembly Plant. Chuck loved working in the yard, taking pride in always making it look immaculate. He loved driving through the country and stopping at one of his favorite restaurants. Chuck is survived by his wife, Nancy of Marysville; daughters, Shelley (Doug) Wuennenberg and Sue Byrnes; son, Keith (Pat) Byrnes; one granddaughter; two grandsons; two great grandsons, all of Missouri; brother, Bill (Genie) Holman of Alabama; sister-in-law, Denise Walker; special cousin, Maxine Gwisdala of Fort Gratiot; aunt, Lucy Wheelihan; other cousins, nieces and nephews; extended family, Jim & Kathy Rosbury, Steve & Wendy Cooper and Steve & Kathy Weingartz. There are also three surviving daughters from a previous marrage, Dianne Burns, Charlene Lemons, both of Missouri and Sharon Holman of Minnesota and three granddaughters. Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be interred in the Riverlawn Cemetery Columbarium, Marysville, MI.. Arrangements are by Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
