Loraine Rumptz

Loraine M. Rumptz, 74, of Port Huron died Tuesday, January 29, 2008 in Marwood Nursing & Rehab after a short illness. She was born June 9, 1933 in Yale daughter of the late John and Frances (Howell) Bertram. Loraine married Harold E. Rumptz on August 27, 1955 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yale. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2005. She retired from Mueller Brass Company after many years of employment. Loraine was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed playing bingo and euchre. She is survived by her son, Michael W. (Lola) Rumptz of Chicago, IL; daughter, Catherine M. (Richard) Brubaker of Midland; daughter Susan A. Lynch of Port Huron; grandsons, Taylor and Jacob Brubaker and Nathan Lynch; granddaughter, Brenna Lynch; step-granddaughter, Tyla Burge-Rumptz and her sister, Arlene Flint of Port Huron. Loraine was preceded in death by her brother Robert Bertram. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visiting hours are 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Friday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Memorials in memory of Loraine, may be given to the Alzheimer's Foundation or Sanborn Gratiot Memorial Home.
