Helen I VanLoo

Helen I. VanLoo, 79, of Port Huron, died Saturday, February 14, 2015, in McLaren Port Huron Hospital.
She was born June 10, 1935 in Port Huron to the late Frank and Marie Masar. Helen married Herbert H. VanLoo on October 31, 1963 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2003.
Helen was a life-long member of Holy Trinity Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, watching the Detroit Tigers and going to Mass. Helen loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Dennis H. (Tracy) VanLoo of Fort Gratiot and Sylvia K. Devroy of Port Huron; grandchildren, Jerry and Dawn Devroy, Brandy VanLoo and Dennis H. VanLoo Jr; great-grandchildren, Casey and Jarell Devroy.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Buenrostro, Vlasta Janovich, Clara “Denny” Callender, Lillian Mechan and brother, Louis Masar.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in Holy Trinity Parish-St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Reverend Jeff Allan will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be 1-4 and 6-9 pm Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church. A Rosary will be recited at 8:30 pm Tuesday evening.
Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church or to the wishes of the family.
