Mark Francis Burns, 46, passed away in

his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 11, 2009, after

a 12 year battle with brain cancer.

He was born April 19, 1962 in Port

Huron and was a lifelong resident.

Mark retired in 2004 from the Laborers

Local 463 after 25 years. He served as president for 6 of those

years. He loved hunting and fishing. Mark was a dedicated father,

husband and son. He loved spending time with his family and loved

dancing and entertaining.

He is survived by his wife Lisa;

children, Katie, Kevin and Madalyn Burns; grandchildren, Shawn

Sharrow, II and Brielle Burns; his parents, Frank and Loretta Burns;

sister, Kelli (James) Helton; mother and father-in-law, Madonna and

Ben Pauli and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m.

Monday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph Gagnon will

officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers

will be Chris Helton, Robert Bowers, Terry Cook, Fred Hopp, David

Hammond and Terry Worden. Honorary pallbearers will be his

brother-in-laws, James Helton, Ben, Tom, Dan, Ron and Steve Pauli.

Visiting hours are 2-6 p.m. Saturday

and 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A rosary will be

recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials may be made to the Hermelin

Brain Tumor Center at Henry Ford Hospital.
