Daniel T. Egan, 77, died Thursday,

June 25, 2009 in his home following a long courageous battle with

cancer.

He was born in Port Huron on July

4, 1931 son of the late John and Katherine (Conners) Egan.

Daniel married Phyllis T. Thomas

on August 25, 1956 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clair.

He was pensioned from the

Railroad. Daniel served in the U.S.M.C. during the Korean Conflict.

While in Korea from 1951 to1952 he spent eleven months in Rifle

Platoon B-1-5 and earned four battle stars and the Korean Ribbon.

He is survived by his wife,

Phyllis T. Egan of North Street; daughter, Mary Katherine Egan of

Port Huron; daughter, Judy M. (Paul) Richter of North Street; son,

Michael John Egan of Port Huron; daughter, Patricia J. (John) Plant

of Port Huron; grandsons, Danny Plant, Brian Richter, Joey Richter

and Zachary and Nicholas Plant.

Funeral services will be 10am

Monday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. George Askar will

officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery with military

honors under auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans

Council.

Visiting hours are 2-4 & 7-9

pm Saturday and Sunday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A rosary

will be recited at 7 pm Sunday evening.

Pallbearers are John Roche, Paul,

Joey and Brian Richter and John and Danny Plant. Honorary

pallbearers are Zachary and Nicholas Plant.

Memorials in memory of Daniel may

be given to the United Way of St. Clair County.
