Thomas R. Jones Kimball - Thomas R. Jones. 78, died Monday, July 2, 2007 in his home. He was born October 17, 1928 in Detroit, MI. He lived in the Port Huron area from 1930 - 1962 and again from Dec. of 1994 to present. Tom was a 1946 graduate of Port Huron High School. He served in the Naval Air Reserve and saw active duty during the Korean War serving overseas. He was employed 22 years with Mueller Brass Co. and following that he was employed for 31 years with Chrysler Corp. Prior to moving from the area in 1962, he was active in the Schubert Club, St. Stephen's and St. Edward's churches. He was a past member of Elks lodges in Essexville, MI and Van Wert, Ohio. He was a member of various professional societies including SME. Tom worked for Radio Station WHLS doing color commentary for various sporting events and broadcasting midnight mass at Christmas. He enjoyed playing Santa Claus at the holiday season. He is survived by his sister, Helena R. Cooper of Marysville, MI and brother Paul James Jones of Florida, an aunt, Rose Bezenah of St. Clair, MI. He is also survived by his son, Thomas Lindsay (Amy S.) Jones of Oconomowoc, WI; daughters, Karen Marie Jones of Houston, TX and Jacqueline Anne Ramsey of Bullhead City, AZ; son, Major James Edward (Laura) Jones of Van Wert, OH; grandchildren, Heidi L. Jones, Thomas A. Jones, Shannon K. Jones, Preston M. Ramsey, Ashley P. Jones, Derek J. Jones and Mackenzie N. Jones; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Lynn (Richard) Wyandt Cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 12 noon Saturday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Inurnment of ashes will follow in the Allied Veterans Cemetery Columbarium.
