Daniel F. Senyk Port Huron - Daniel F. "Danny" Senyk, 51, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 16, 2008, following a courageous battle with brain cancer, leaving behind a grieving host of relatives and friends who reveled in his jokes, were warmed by his love, and will forever rejoice that they knew him. Danny was born September 28, 1956 in Port Huron and was a lifelong resident. He married Cheryl A. Hagle on June 2, 1979 in North Hills Nazarene Church. Danny was an extremely devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was very quick witted and loved to make everyone around him laugh. He was loved by all his friends and would do anything to help anyone in need. Danny was a conductor for the Grand Trunk Railroad, for whom he was employed for 30 years. He was an avid Red Wings hockey fan and enjoyed watching local hockey teams as well. He also liked watching the Detroit Tigers. He was especially fond of watching the freighters pass under the bridges in the St. Clair River. He is survived by his devoted wife, Cheryl A. Senyk; his sons, Sean Senyk (Jennifer Kuligowski) and Jacob Senyk; mother, Lillian Senyk; sisters, Patti (Ed) King and Teresa (Bill) Davis; brother, Rick Senyk; sister, Debbie Senyk; sister-in-law, Cathy Senyk; aunt, Helen Mosco; special cousins, Jay VandeVoorde, of Port Huron and Linda & Jim Berlin of Arizona; mother-in-law, Arlene Hagle; nephews, Christopher, Andrew and Nicholas King, Keith Davis and Justin Senyk; niece, Katlyn Senyk and many other relatives that he loved dearly. Danny is preceded in death by his father, Donald Senyk and his father-in-law, Bert A. Hagle. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Ross Bible Church. Pastor Joe Beneschan will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his nephews and brother-in-laws. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Stevens, Craig McQuat, Kenny Merrill, Doug Lewis, Jimmy Vandendries and Scott Smith. Visiting hours are 2-9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. and from 10 a.m. until the service time Thursday at the church.
