Thomas O'Reilly

Thomas Robert OReilly 76, of Fort Gratiot passed away unexpectedly May 1, 2008. Born March 18th 1932, Toms passion in life was his wife LaVerne who he married July 5th 1954. She preceded him in death in 2004.

Toms other passion was repairing cars and he spent his entire life working in the auto industry retiring from St. Clair County Community College in the mid eighties as an auto body instructor. Tom was an artisan when repairing damaged cars and excelled in returning them to a like new appearance. Tom greatly enjoyed passing his skills on to his students.

Tom is survived by his sister JoAnne OReilly, daughter, Susan (Mark) Muir, Son, Michael O'Reilly, Son, Daniel OReilly, seven grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in St. Marys Catholic Church. The Rev. Simeon T. Iber will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Visiting hours are 7:00- 9:00 p.m. Sunday, 2:00- 4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Monday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening.

Memorials may be given in memory of Tom to Blue Water Hospice.
