Olive Reaume

Olive M. Reaume, 86, of Fort Gratiot, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 31, 2008 in Mercy Hospital following a short illness. Olive Marie Boyd, daughter of the late Archibald and Lillian Boyd, was born January 25, 1922 in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. She was united in marriage to Hubert Joseph Reaume on April 22, 1945 in Windsor, Ontario and made their home in Fort Gratiot, Michigan. Hubert preceded her in death on January 29, 2001. Olive attended St. Marys Catholic Church where she was an active member and a Eucharistic Minister throughout her life. Olive enjoyed reading, traveling with family and campaigning for the Democratic Party. Olive is survived by her sons Robert, Hubert, Larry and Brian Reaume; daughters, Cheryl (Mark) Sheldon and Sandra (Vance) Richardson; brothers, Louis (Muriel) Boyd and William (Gail) Boyd. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sons, Dennis and Lawrence Reaume and sister Josephine Hardman. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in St. Marys Catholic Church. The Rev. Simeon T. Iber, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visiting hours are 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or The Charity of the Donors Choice.
