Stanley Wyczawski

Father Stanley A. Wyczawski, 61, of Deckerville, entered into eternal life on Friday, July 11, 2008 following a long illness. He was born October 3, 1946 in Detroit son of the late Stanley J. and Johanna E. (Jeziak) Wyczawski. Father Wyczawski was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Detroit on February 2, 1973. He served as associate pastor at St. Veronica, East Detroit; St. Rene Goupil, Sterling Heights and St. Lawrence in Utica. He served as pastor at St. Anne, Ortonville; St. Anne, Warren; St. Lawrence, Utica; St. Ireneaus, Rochester Hills and St. Mary Parish in Port Huron. He is survived by his sister, Louise (Kenneth) Maes of Simpsonville, South Carolina; nephews Jeremy (Melodie) Maes of Greenville, South Carolina and Jason (Stephanie) Maes of Mattawan, MI; uncle, Carl Wyczawski, of New Ulm. MN; cousin, Walter (Margaret) Filipiak of Deckerville and numerous other cousins and friends. Visiting hours are 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m Sunday and 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Father Wyczawski will lie in state on Tuesday at St. Mary Parish from 10:00 a.m. until the celebration of his funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorials in memory of Father Wyczawski may be given to St. Mary Catholic Parish.
