Justin 'Red' Kelly

December 5th, 1926 to August 3rd, 2008


Justin E. Red Kelly, 81, of Port Huron, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2008 with his beloved wife of 44 years, Ann, at his side as he slipped quietly away after a courageous battle with cancer.

Red was born December 5, 1926 on Prince Edward Island, Canada, the second child of Tina and James Kelly.

After his formal education at St. Dunstan Academy on Prince Edward Island, Red moved to Sarnia, Ontario to work as an engineer at Dow Chemical Company. He moved to Michigan and worked as head engineer at Ford Motor Co. in Milan for 20 years prior to his retirement.

Red loved golf and was a member of the Port Huron Elks Club. He was also a craftsman in woodwork and stained glass. He and his wife, Ann spent winters both in Arizona and most recently in Florida.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Ann; daughter, Stephanie (Barry) Kelly-Wagan; stepson, Kent (Jean) Gully; Grandchildren, Kyle and Erin Wagan , Justin and Kent Gully, Jr. and Melissa (Mike) Hongo; his brothers, Donald, Russ and Blair Kelly; sister, Clarise McCormick and numerous nieces and nephews.

Red was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Preston.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial services will be held at 12 noon, Friday, August 22, 2008 at the Elks Lodge, 3292 Beach Road followed by a luncheon.
