Domingo H. Ruiz, 87, of Port Huron, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013 in Blue Water Hospice Home.
He was born January 24, 1926 in Austin, TX. He married Angelita L. Raygosa on October 18, 1947 in Caro, MI.
Domingo served in the United States Army during World War II in Europe, receiving the Bronze star. He worked for Mueller Brass for over 30 years and was a Port Huron Sports Hall of Fame inductee as a member of the Braves.
He is survived by his wife, Angelita L. of Port Huron; two sons, Domingo "Rico" (Jerie) Ruiz of Port Huron and David (Pamela) of Macomb Township; a daughter, Debra (William) Budinger of Port Huron; grandchildren, Joseph (Carrie) Ruiz, Matthew (Allison) Ruiz, Sarah (Dustin) Youngs, Regina (Josh) Pearson, Elizabeth Ruiz, Annette Ruiz, and William M. Budinger; and five great grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013, in Holy Trinity Parish St. Stephen Catholic Church. Father Joseph Gagnon will officiate.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the church.
Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Parish St. Stephen Catholic Church or Blue Water Hospice Home.
Arrangements are by the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
