Richard S. Pruner, 96, of Port Huron, died Sunday, November 24, 2013 in Barss Residential Home, Fort Gratiot.
He was born July 2, 1917 in Syracuse, NY to the late Charles and Ruth (Stansbury) Pruner and has lived here since 1973. He married Kathryne A. Dupuis on April 19, 1941 in Detroit. She preceded him in death on July 17, 2006.
Richard retired from Ford Motor Company in 1983 and was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church. He enjoyed sailing, canoeing, photography, nature and organic gardening.
He is survived by his son, Douglas (Jan) Pruner of New Mexico; daughter, Louise McKinney of Erie, PA; son, Victor Pruner of Seattle, WA; son, Vincent Pruner of Livonia and daughter Martha (Bob) Wolfe of Macomb, Twp; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by daughters, Aileen Cannon and Jeanie Graham.
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013 in St. Paul Episcopal Church. The Reverend Bob Diehl will officiate.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2013 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 10a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Algonac Clay Township Historical Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
