Gerald P Guziak

Jerry P. Guziak, 75, of San Francisco, CA, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 of natural causes.

He was born July 17, 1938 in Port Huron, son of the late Michael M. and Anna E. (Borsenik) Guziak.

Jerry was a 1956 graduate of St. Stephens High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961. After graduating from Eastern Michigan University, Jerry was employed as an air traffic controller in Indianapolis and also worked for the FAA in Chicago and Oklahoma and then worked for the Department of the Army at the Persidio in San Francisco until his retirement. Jerry was a successful transplant recipient of both heart and kidney receiving his first heart in October of 1987. He is survived by his two brothers, Ray (Marge) Guziak of Fruita, CO and Tom (Patsy) Guziak of Hurst, TX; a sister, Jean (Tom) Devereaux of Lexington; special nephew, Bob Guziak of Cape Coral, FL and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by two brothers, Don (Grace) Guziak, Michael H. Guziak and a sister, Theresa Frendt.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The Reverend Donald Eppenbrock will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Veteran’s Honor Guard Alliance.
