Kitty (Koerber) Healey, 58, died Saturday, January 11, 2014 in her home following a short illness.
She was born December 8, 1955 in Port Huron to the late Jerry and Joan Koerber. She married Dennis M. Healey on June 12, 1982 in St Joseph Church.
Kitty’s faith played a primary role in her life. She taught school at Algonquin Middle School in Algonac for 20 years. She also enjoyed playing tennis, running, swimming and reading. Kitty was an avid Tigers fan. She loved attending her children’s sporting events and spending time with her family and friends. She was adored by her husband, children and family.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; children, Kevin, Daniel and Kaitlyn; mother, Martha Koerber; siblings, Tim (Sue) Koerber, Nan (Greg) Farley, Art (Robin) Koerber, Joan (Ken) Wood and Mo (John) Bringard; mother and father-in-law, Jean and Bob Healey; sisters-in-law, Karen (Rob) Bradeen and Kathryn Healey (Glen); brother-in-law, Tim (Kerri) Healey and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Koerber.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Edwards on the Lake Catholic Church. The Rev. Lee Acervo will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until the service time Thursday at church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hunter Hospitality House.
