Mary Holob

Mary Holob, 87, of Port Huron, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014.
She was born June 19, 1926 in McClellandtown PA to the late Ralph and Mary (Provainik) Skala. Mary married Eugene “Jeep” Holob on April 26, 1947. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2007.
She enjoyed living by the water in Reading, MI. Mary liked fishing, gardening and going on walks. She enjoyed embroidery, knitting and sewing.
Mary is survived by her son Edward (Sharon) Holob of Hazel Park; daughter, Betty (John) Cokonougher of Avoca; daughter, Arlene Engel of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren, Father Brian Cokonougher of Port Huron, Joseph (Nicole) Cokonougher of Spring, TX and Daniel Cokonougher of Port Huron; brothers, Joseph (MaryAnn) Skala of PA, Stephen Skala of PA and sister Pauline Ozanich of PA and many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul, Ralph Jr, John, Andrew and Louis Skala and sisters, Ann (Skala) Chetosky and Margaret (Skala) Bartyczak.
Mass of Resurrection will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014 in Holy Trinity Parish- St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Reverend Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate.
Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the church. A rosary will be recited at 7p.m. Friday evening.
Mary’s family would like to thank the staff at the Manor for their loving care and kindness that she received.
