Nicholas Damian

Nicholas Damian, 99, of Lakeport, died Friday, January 31, 2014 in Port Huron Township following a short illness.
He was born December 30, 1914 in Detroit, son of the late Stephen and Mary (Piper) Damian. He married Doris K. Berschbach. She preceded him in death on May 3, 2007.
Nicholas served in the U.S Air Force during World War II as a tail gunner. He was employed for many years at Packard Motor Company until they closed. He and his wife operated a party store and deli in Harper Woods and he retired from Lawyers Title Company in Troy in 1979. He loved music and was an avid Detroit Tiger Baseball fan.
Nicholas was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara D. (Larry) Praet of Port Huron Township; granddaughter, Carrie (Andy) Foster of Rochester, NY; grandson, Matthew (April) Praet of Harper Woods; great grandchildren, Benjamin and Max Praet and Katie Foster; sister, Marjorie Kunkle of Clinton Township and several nieces and nephews.
Family graveside services will be held at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
