Edward P Kielbas

Edward Paul Kielbas, 94 of North Lakeport passed away

peacefully in his home on Saturday, February 1, 2014

He was born on July 25, 1919 in Detroit, son of the late John and

Sophia (Bombacz) Kielbas.

Ed was a Merchant Marine and worked for 36 years as an oiler on

the car ferry for C&O Railroad. He retired in 1979. He enjoyed

fishing and traveling to California with his son Greg. He also

loved relaxing with, and enjoying the company of the neighbors

on his drive. He formed many special relationships from living

there since 1958. Ed loved having his grandchildren and great

grandchildren come and visit him at “Grandpa’s Beach”.

He even proudly welcomed a great-great granddaughter to the beach this past summer!

He is survived by his son Greg of Port Huron, sister Eleanor

Balamucki of Brooklyn, MI, Grandchildren, Katherine Wallace,

Jeff (Lisa), Mike (Karen) and Rick Kielbas, 12 great-grandchildren

and one great-great grandchild.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents John and Sophia, brothers

John and Stanley (Mickey), sister, Martha Strzalka, and his

kind, considerate and loving daughter Lynn Natre.

Visiting hours will be from 2-9 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2014

in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Family graveside services will take place in Lakeport Cemetery. Pastor Tim Clark of Ross Bible

Church will officiate.

Memorials may be given to Paws With a Cause or the Blue

Water Hospice.
