Lewis R. Napolitan, age 80, of Fort

Gratiot, died Friday, October 31, 2008 in Port Huron Hospital

following a short illness.

He was born April 3, 1928 in

Hazelhurst, PA and has lived here most of his life.

He married the former Shirley J.

White on August 7, 1948 in St. Stephen Catholic Church. She preceded

him in death on August 23, 2002.

Lewis was a 1946 graduate of St.

Stephen High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1948,

including a year in Japan. Lewis retired from Prestolite and served

on the Board at Flagship Federal Credit Union and was secretary for

the Industrial Bowling League for 50 years. He was a member of St.

Stephen Catholic Church serving as an usher for many years. S.K.

Lewis Napolitan was a 4 th degree member of Fr. John R.

Hogan Assembly #2521 Knights of Columbus and 3 rd degree

member of Immaculata Council #8274 Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed

playing golf, watching hockey and loved to work in his yard. He was a

devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his sons,

Richard L. Napolitan of Kalamazoo and Jon J. (Linda) Napolitan of

Port Huron; grandsons, Andrew J. Napolitan of Mishawaka , IN; Daniel

J. Napolitan of Port Huron; Matthew J. Napolitan of Port Huron;

brother, Joseph (Joanne) Napolitan of Port Huron and sister-in-law

Helen Napolitan of Port Huron.

Lewis was preceded in death by his

parents Joseph and Maria (Fuccillo) Napolitan; brother, Carmen G.

Napolitan and sister Rose N. Acker.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am

Monday in St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian K.

Cokonougher, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope

Cemetery with military honors under auspices of the St. Clair County

Allied Veterans Council.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 pm

Sunday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 10:00 am Monday at the

church. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm Sunday evening.

Memorials in memory of Lewis may

be given to St. Stephen Catholic Church or Knights of Columbus.
