Ronald R. Haslett, 85, of Bellevue, Ohio, died Friday, April 25, 2014 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky.
He was born June 24, 1928 in St. John New Brunswick, Canada the son of the late Ralph Everett Ford Haslett and the late Alaina Bertha Lake.
Ron was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy Haslett. The dear father of Linda (Ron) Wrobel of St, Clair, Janet (Dave) Zilch of Bellevue, OH , Ralph (Kathy) Haslett of North Branch, Nancy (Kirk) Williams of Palm Coast, FL, Joe Haslett of Bellevue OH. The devoted grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren.
Ronald was proud to serve in the United States Army. He was a Korean War Veteran, returning from service in Korea he had the distinguished honor to serve as Honor Guard for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at The Arlington National Cemetery.
Ron wishes to acknowledge the care and support from Home Instead Service.
Visitation for Ronald will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home, 1720 Elk Street at Pine Grove Ave., Port Huron, MI 48060.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Father Sidney Eckert will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans.
Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
The love he shared with his son Joe, inspired him to be active in helping individuals with developmental disabilities.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Seneca County Unity/Program benefiting individuals with special needs.
