Gordon R Shaw

Mr. Gordon R. Shaw Jr., 78, of North Street died unexpectedly Sunday, April 27, 2014.
He was born on August 30th, 1935 in Flint, MI to the late Gordon R. and Caroline Shaw. He grew up and spent most of his life in the North Street area.
Mr. Shaw was a member of Grace Ministry Church. He loved to golf and worked as a ranger at Four Lakes Golf Course after retiring from playing golf. He was a member of the “Hole-in-One” club. He loved to make bird houses for his family and friends.
Gordon was a graduate of the American Institute of Banking at the University of Washington. He had over 40 years of banking experience. He held positions with Michigan National Bank, NBD Bank, Peoples Bank of Pt. Huron and Eastern Michigan Bank.
Gordon served as a Clyde Township planning commission member, zoning board of appeals member and its chairmen, and as an elected township Treasurer for 8 years. He was involved in the Clyde Township Historical Society. He served on the board of review in Clyde Township as well.
He is survived by four children, Gordon A. (Debra) Shaw, Houston, TX, Frederick A. Shaw, Davison, MI Rodney A. (Cristina) Shaw, North Street, MI Laura L. Shaw, Davison, MI; six grandchildren Whitney (Adam) Provost, Tonganoxie, KS, Leslie Ann (Jeff) Blalock, Clio, MI, Jenna Shaw, Minneapolis, MN, Rodney A. (Monica) Shaw, Pt. Huron, MI, Aubrey Shaw, Moscow, ID, Olivia Stein, unknown; four great grandchildren Ashley Megan, Kayla Jean, and Rodney Allan Shaw, Collette Noelle Provost. He is also survived by his step sister Leba (Roger) Shaw, Alaska.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Ministry Church, 1661 Range Road, Kimball, MI 48074 at 11 AM on Saturday, May 31st, 2014. The service will be officiated by Pastor Mitch Olson of Grace Ministry Church.
