Thomas J. Bonney, 75, died Saturday,
December 20, 2008, in his home with his wife and daughters at his
side.
He was born March 27, 1933 in Port
Huron to the late Harry and Gertrude Bonney. He married Ida M.
Hillock on September 26, 1953 in North Street.
Tom was a journeyman licensed plumber
with the Local 98 for 50 years and retired in 1993. He was a 1952
graduate of of St Stephens High School and a member of St. Stephens
Athletic Association.
He loved the water, freighters,
fishing and trains. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida for the
past 10 years.
Tom is survived by his wife, Ida M.
Bonney; daughters, Nancy and Judy Bonney; brother, Harry Bonney, Jr.;
sister-in-laws, Donna Rock, Jackie Bonney and Pat (Dick) Moses;
brother-in-law, Bernie (Mary Lou) Hillock; several nieces and
nepherws; special friends, Bill Bernum and Ron Olson and his buddy,
Patches.
He was preceded in death by his
sister, Marie Bonney, O.P.; brothers, Charles, Bernard and Richard
Bonney; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Isaac and Berneace Hillock.
His Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m.
Tuesday at St. Marys Church. The Rev. George Askar will officiate.
Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Graveside military rites
will be under the direction of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans
Council. His nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visiting hours are 4-9 p.m. Monday at
Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and from 9:15 a.m. Until the service time
Tuesday at church.
Memorials may be made to St Marys
Church, the Salvation Army, Blue Water Community Food Depot, Blue
Water Hospice or the Visiting Nurses Association.
