Joan L. “Tootie Urban, 65, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 in St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron following a long illness.
She was born April 27, 1943 in Port Huron and has been a life long area resident. Joan married Larry L. Urban on May 27, 1960 in Port Huron.
She baked wedding cakes and was a caregiver for many years. Joan loved shopping, traveling and was a member of Curves.
Joan is survived by her husband Larry L. Urban of Port Huron Twp; son, Lorman (Marlena) Urban of Key Largo, FL; daughter, Janet (John) Cummins of Fountain, MI; daughter, Veronica (Delbert) Ruck of Kimball; daughter, Dorothy (James) Koebke of Kimball; daughter, Dawn (Kenneth) Joslin of Gainesville, MO; grandchildren, Tonya and Tanya Gay, Joseph and Jonathan Benner, Amy Rowe, Scott Cummins, Kyle and Jocelyn Ruck, Jamie and Rebecca Koebke and Kristina and Kacey Joslin; 15 great-grandchildren; her mother, Janet Moses of Clyde; brothers, Richard (Pat) Moses and John (Merle) Moses; sister, Helen Brockway; brother, Tom (Sandy) Moses; sister, Debra Furay; special friends, Bud and Carol Lewandowski, Butch and Lorna Bramer, Joey Brockway and many other special and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherri Urban; father, Elsworth L. Moses; grandson, Justin Alexander Ruck; aunt, Alice Urban; father and mother-in-law, Norm and Dorothy Peeling and brother-in-law, Corky Brockway.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Memorials in memory of Joan may be given to the American Diabetes Association, The Old Newsboys or friends of the G. Lynn Campbell Library in Kimball.
