Joseph Edward Baker, 82, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, September 24, 2014, in his home.
He was born April 16, 1932 in Port Huron, the son of the late Julius J. and Violet (Wisniewski) Baker.
Joseph graduated from Port Huron High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Navy and was employed at Ford Motor Company for many years.
He is survived by his sister, Genevieve (Gene) Wojcik of Grand Blanc; two nephews, Michael Wojcik of Grand Blanc and Christopher (Roberta) Wojcik of Burton; three nieces, Jennifer Wojcik of Fenton, Amy (John) Gartrell of Goodrich, and Julia (Bennett) Luscher of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2014 in Mt. Hope Cemetery Chapel. Father Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy and the Veteran’s Honor Guard Alliance.
Arrangements are by the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
