Frederick J. Grattan, 74 of Port

Huron, died, Monday January 19, 2009 in his home following a long

illness.

He was born April 4, 1934 in Port

Huron and was a life long area resident.

Frederick served honorably in the

U.S. Army from 1956-1958. He retired from Mueller Brass Company in

1978 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and home renovations.

He is survived by his loving

companion of 32 years, Caroline A. Erickson of Port Huron; son,

Thomas E. Grattan of Port Huron; son, Kenneth J. (Bonnie) Grattan of

Clyde; son, Robert J. (Sue) Grattan of Port Huron; daughter, Rebecca

L.Grattan of Port Huron; daughter, Michelle A. Grattan of Port Huron;

9 grandchildren, Joshua, Christopher, Jenae, Nathan, Matthew, Daniel

Robert, Jason, Megan, Danielle; great-granddaughter Emma; brother

Edwin R. Grattan of Folsom, CA; sisters, Gail (Gerald) Brown of Port

Huron, Lois (John) Meikle of Lapeer and several nieces and nephews.

Frederick was preceded in death

by his parents, Gabriel W. and Pauline (Hudy) Grattan and

granddaughter Melissa Grattan.

Funeral services will be 11 am.

Thursday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. George Askar

will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery with

military honors under auspices of the St. Clair County Allied

Veterans Council.

Visiting hours are 2-4 & 7-9

pm Wednesday in the funeral home.

Frederick's grandsons will serve

as his pallbearers.

Memorials in memory of Frederick

may be given to the wishes of the family.
