Ruth Katherine Weis, 91, of Port Huron, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014.
She was born September 13, 1923 in Port Huron to the late Andrew and Wilhelmina Falk. She married Jim Weis on September 22, 1944. Jim preceded her in death on December 10, 2011.
Mom enjoyed traveling, spending winters in Florida, playing bridge and visiting her German-Russian ancestry. Her dedication and greatest pride was to be a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was very proud of the military time served by Jim, Doug, Larry, David and Jimmy. A mom’s hug lasts forever after she lets go.
She is survived by four children and their spouses, Jim and Suzanne Weis of Smiths Creek, Ruth Ann (Weis) and Doug George of Canton, GA, Susan (Weis) and Larry Horvath of Port Huron, and Dan and Nancy Weis of Clinton Township; nine grandchildren, Jeanne, David, Emily, Eric, Andrew, Becky, Nicole, Christine and Jennifer; eight great grandchildren, Taylor, Jimmy, Kiley, Braedan, Averi, Krystian, Julianna and Allison; and several nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bill and brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Jane Falk.
Visiting will be from 2 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 10, 2014 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Don Doerzbacher will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or Our Saviour Lutheran Church.
