Fort Gratiot- Robert E. Miller, 76,

died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 in Port Huron Hospital following a

long illness.

He was born June 30, 1932 in Port

Huron son of the late Emery and Helen (Berden) Miller and was a life

long resident.

Robert served in the U.S. Army

from 1950-1953 and retired as a collector from Southeastern Michigan

Gas Company in 1995. He was a member of Msgr. E.J. McCormick

Knights of Columbus Council #521. Robert enjoyed watching hockey and

baseball.

He is survived by his daughter and

fiance', Colleen T. Wojtowicz and Derek Newberry of Croswell;

daughter, Jacqueline R. Miller of Port Huron; grandsons, Joseph R.

and Jeffrey M. Wojtowicz of Lexington; sisters, Eleanor Hamilton of

Jupiter, Fl, Marion (Larry) Bailey of West Palm Beach, Fl and Joyce

(Richard) Pettengill of Fort Gratiot and several nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by

his daughter, Janice Marie Miller; sister, Virginia Alexander and

brother-in-law Dick Hamilton.

Memorial services will be 10am

Saturday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Brian K.

Cokonougher will officiate. Military honors will be held under

auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.

Visiting hours are 2-4 and 7-9 pm

Friday in the funeral home.
