Norma M Weiss
June 18th, 1925 to January 4th, 2015
Norma Mae Weiss, 89, of Burtchville, went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2015, in Croswell, after a long illness.
She was born June 18, 1925 in Applegate, the daughter of the late Merritt and Selena Vincent. She was married to Frederick Weiss for over 60 years. He preceded her in death on September 9, 2003. They loved to travel the world and spend their winters in Ruskin, FL.
As a teenager she was employed at a soda fountain, and also worked at Raymond Excavation. She retired from the Department of Human Services in 1972.
Norma was such a wonderful friend and mother. Everyone was always greeted by her beautiful, friendly smile and laugh.
She is survived by her son, Gary (Becky) Weiss; daughter, Laurie Weiss (Ron Kearns); two granddaughters, Stacey Renee (Jeff Webber) of Minnesota, Kimberly Dawn (Derek) Lamb of New Zealand; four great-grandchildren; many loving in-laws; nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Alta Shaw of Lakeport. She was preceded in death by brothers, Garth and Don Vincent and sister, Mary Elizabeth Vincent.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Living Word Church, 6320 Lakeshore Road, Lexington Heights. The Reverend Alex Weiss will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Washington Township Cemetery at a later date.
Norma fought her illness for many years, peacefully and gently going to her eternal home.
