Eleanor J. Lalley, 93, of Port Huron, rose to Heaven on Sunday, February 8, 2015, in the company of family at her daughter’s home.

Eleanor was born to Laroy and Edith Story on August 22, 1921 in Illinois where she spent her childhood. She married William J. Lalley on August 22, 1942 shortly before he was deployed to Italy and Africa in World War II.

Eleanor and William belonged to several dance clubs. Eleanor also belonged to two Bridge Clubs and played a fierce game of Backgammon. She was a past President of Port Huron Hospital’s Auxiliary and frequently volunteered in their ER. She enjoyed sewing and creating fine needle artwork. She loved traveling, and her favorite vacation spot was Hawaii. She mastered the computer in her late 70’s and kept up with family and friends via email.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband; Bill, a sister; Norma McKeon, and many friends and other family members. She leaves behind to mourn her passing daughters, Lynn Cox of Texas and Laura (Daniel) Perry of Michigan and Arizona and grandson, Brad (Megan) Perry of Arizona.

Per her wishes and instruction, a private family ceremony was held to celebrate Eleanor’s life.

Memorials may be made to the St Clair County Humane Society.
