Patricia A. Johnston, 88, of Fort Gratiot, died Wednesday, February 25, 2015.
She was born May 10, 1926 in Port Huron, the daughter of the late George and Mary Krafft. She married Robert J. Johnston on July 27, 1944 in Angola, IN. He preceded her in death on September 21, 2011.
Patricia attended Port Huron area schools, graduating from St. Stephen High School.
Mrs. Johnston volunteered at Mercy Hospital and was an active parishioner of St. Edward on-the-Lake Catholic Church. She was a life member of the League of Catholic Women, served on the St. Edward’s Ladies Guild and was a member of the Blue Star Mother’s.
She is survived by her children, Donald J. (Jacqueline) Johnston of Fort Gratiot, Robin A. (Rick) Crothers of Kimball and Jill M. Haggerty of Port Huron; grandchildren, Jason (Karen) and Tim (Jamie) Johnston and James (Caitlin) Fogal, Heidi Fogal, Ashley (Ryan) Johnson and Brooke Haggerty; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Krafft of Naples, FL.; sister-in-law, Beverly Krafft of Warren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers, George, William, Robert, Joseph, Leo, Gerald and John Krafft, and sisters, Jane Phillips, Veronica Willing, Marjorie Neumann and Sr. Mary Elizabeth Krafft.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 in St. Edward on-the-Lake Catholic Church. Rev. Lee Acervo will officiate.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the time of service in the church. A Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
Patricia’s family would like to thank the staff at Marwood Nursing and Rehab and Blue Water Hospice for the excellent care she received.
