Robert

L. Rodriguez, 83, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2009

at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital.

He

was born December 16, 1925 in Donna Texas to the late Cervando and

Lupe Lopez-Rodriguez.

Robert

Owned and operated numerous businesses and restaurants in Port Huron

and Pontiac including a grocery store, C & M Market, for many

years. Upon retirement, he remained active while pursuing the local

real estate market.

Robert

believed in the importance of, and supported Our Lady of Guadalupe

Mission in Port Huron. He enjoyed watching Detroit Tigers

baseball and spending time at the casino. He especially enjoyed his

morning get together with his McDonald's friends.

Robert

is survived by his children, Robert J. (Cheryl) Rodriguez of Pontiac,

Mary Rodriguez of Port Huron, Rose M. (Brian) Browning of Florida and

Lynda Evans-Powers (Mark Powers) of Kimball; 7 grandchildren; 12

great grandchildren; brother, Roy Rodriguez of Port Huron; sister,

Mary Fernandez of MaCallie, TX; special friend, Hazel of Sandusky and

many nieces and nephews.

He

was preceded in death by his former wife, Jaunita; grandson, Justin

Lee Evans; brothers, Domingo and Faustino; sisters, Guadalupe and

Filipia.

Funeral

services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The

Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt.

Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his son-in-laws, Brian R.

Browning and Mark C. Powers, dear friend, Steve Delacy, grandson,

Bryan R. Browning, nephew, Rick Rodriguez and great grandson,

Alexzonder Rodriguez

Visiting

hours are 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A rosary

will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Memorial

contributions may be made to the Justin L. Evans Memorial Fund

(JLEMF) or Our Lady of Guadalupe Hispanic Mission.
