James Francis Taylor, 82, of Port Huron, died Friday, June 19, 2015.
He was born August 5, 1932, in Port Huron, to the late William and Melissa Taylor.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
James retired from The Blue Water Area Transportation.
He is survived by his loving daughters, who knew that he was their hero, Mary (Thomas) Lane of Killeen, TX, Melissa Bird of St. Clair, Jamie Taylor of St. Clair Shores, Denise Taylor of Thompson Falls, MT and Diana (Sean) Hutchinson of Port Huron; ten grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; long lifetime friend and former wife, Reta Taylor; and his loving pet, Amber.
He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Robin M. Taylor, two brothers and a sister.
A graveside memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2015, at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Father Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate. Military honors will be held under the auspices of the U.S. Navy and the Veterans Honor Guard Alliance.
