Barbara Marie Becktold, 79, of Marysville, died Friday, September 25, 2015.
She was born November 2, 1935 in Port Huron to the late Ralph and Helen Howard. She married William R. Becktold Sr. on April 28, 1956 in St. Stephen Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on February 25, 1988.
Barbara was a 1954 graduate of St. Stephen High School and a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, St. Anne’s Altar Society and F.O.E. Blue Water Aerie #3702. She was employed at Port Huron Hospital in the food service department for many years, retiring in 2000. She was an avid Tiger’s fan and enjoyed bowling and playing euchre.
She is survived by her children, William R. (Deborah) Becktold, Jr. and Barbara M. Becktold; her sister, Mary (Tom) Kennedy; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Frederick J. Becktold; and her siblings, Frank Howard, Helen Ceglarek, Robert and Charles Howard.
Mass of Resurrection will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 1, 2015 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Reverend Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate.
Visiting will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and from 10 am Thursday in the church. A Rosary will be recited at 6 pm Wednesday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
