Frederick Junior Carpo, 86, of Fort Gratiot, died Monday, December 28, 2015.
He was born April 21, 1929 in Port Huron to the late Frederick J. and Beulah Carpo.
Frederick was a graduate of Port Huron High School and Northwestern College. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955. He was a controller with St. Clair Rubber Company, retiring in 1981.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the American Legion Charles Hammond Post #8.
Mr. Carpo enjoyed gardening, canning, traveling, playing the organ, but most of all he loved his family.
He is survived by his son, Bradley (Kelli) Carpo; best friend, Rosalie; two nieces, Susan Gustin and Jane (Ron) Hustek; two nephews, Neil (Brenda) Carpo Jr. and Paul (Luann) Carpo; and many great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Neil and Norman Carpo.
Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January, 2, 2016 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Port Huron. Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Navy and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
Visiting hours will be 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with a Rosary being recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will also be 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
