Shirley A. Locke, 78, of Marysville, died Wednesday, January 27, 2016.
She was born on October 18, 1937 in Huron County to the late Peter and Theresa Rumptz. She married Elwin H. “Al” Locke on April 9, 1960 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on December 18 1997.
Shirley was a secretary for the City of Port Huron in both the Water and Personnel Departments for 35 years.
She was an avid bowler and reader, loved to golf, and enjoyed polka music.
She is survived by her son, Elwin H. Locke, Jr.; her daughter, Jacqueline M. Locke-Parisio; grandsons, Anthony W. Parisio and Joshua S. Parisio; two sisters, Bernice J. Howard and Donna Artman; a brother, John (Judy) Rumptz; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph R. Locke; her brother, Harold Rumptz and an infant brother, Robert Rumptz.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at the church.
Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016 in Holy Trinity Parish - St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Jeffrey Allan will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
