C. Clyde. O.B. Sonny

O'Brien, 94 of Port Huron died August 4, 2009 at the Medilodge of

Port Huron.

He was born January 30, 1915 in

Ishpeming, Michigan and has lived most of his life here in Port

Huron.

Sonny married the former Dorothy

Schwitzke. She preceded him in death on August 25, 1994.

He retired from Mueller Brass

Company after 35 years of employment. He sailed with the Merchant

Marines during the early fifties and the late sixties. He was a

veteran of W.W.II serving with the U.S. Army in Africa and Europe and

was a 65 year member of American Legion Charles A. Hammond Post #8.

Sonny is survived by his son, Paul

J. (Ruth) O'Brien of Flushing; daughter, Renee D. (Grant) Goodall of

Port Huron; son, David F. (Diane) O'Brien of Avoca; grandchildren,

Christa (Lupillo) Ramereiz, Matt (Beth) O'Brien, Michael (Erin)

Williams, Lisa (Jim) Scrimger, Bill (Ashlee) Williams, Greg (Carey)

Goodall, Marysue Torres, David S. O'Brien, Michelle Besko and

Jennifer (Gary) Sanders; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard

O'Brien and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his

parents, Walter and Minnie (Vanderwalker) O'Brien and sisters, Sara

Gamble, Flavia Smith, Betty Courtney and granddaughter Maureen

O'Brien.

Memorial services will be 1:30

pm. Sunday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Max Amstutz

will officiate. Military honors will be held under auspices of the

St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.

An Irish Wake will follow at the

American Legion on 6 th and Wall in Port Huron.

Visiting hours are 12 noon until

service time on Sunday.

Memorials in memory of Sonny may

be given to Heartland Hospice.
