June S. Lindsay Fitch, 73, died Monday,

August 24, 2009 in Port Huron Hospital due to complications from a

courageous battle with cancer.

She was born June 3, 1936 in Port

Huron. She married Ernie Lindsay on November 30, 1968. He died July

7, 1986. She then married Joe Fitch in November, 1989. He preceded

her in death on August 8, 1990.

June worked for London's Dairy and

later at the Downtown Lodge in Port Huron where she was known as

Sarge. She was an active member of Grace Church. June enjoyed

crafts, music and photography. She was a very kind and caring

person.

She is survived by her sister and best

friend, Emily (Bill) Klein; brother, Norbert (Brett Elaine) Johnson;

step brothers, Richard (Sandy), Bob (Tina), Bill (Daine) and Ralph

(Lois) Ainsworth; step sisters, Patricia Spinks, Beverly (Jim)

Mongillo and Winnie (Dave) Coombs; step-brothers, Robert C. and

Richard Van Norman and step-sister, Linda Van Norman; step-children,

Tom (Nancy) Lindsay, Jean (Jack) Dahl, Margie Lindsay, Joe (Elaine)

Fitch, Tim Fitch, Beth (John) Gentey and Susie (Jim) Holman;

daughter-in-law, Daine (Jerry) Brown; special niece and Godchild,

Tammy (Michael) Stevens and numerous grandchildren, great

grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

June was also preceded in death by her

brothers, Jack, Arthur, Ralph, Robert and Bill.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m.

Saturday in Grace Episcopal Church. The Rev. Robert P. Trask will

officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Visiting hours are 6-9 p.m. Thursday

and 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and from

9 a.m. until the service time Saturday at church.
