Bernard E. Kuschel, 68, died Thursday,

October 1, 2009 while on vacation in Salzburg, Austria.

He was born January 26, 1941 in

Detroit, Michigan. He married Laura Johnston on August 28, 1987.

Bernie retired from IBM after 25 years

of employment. He was currently working for Fairlane Tool. He was a

member of the No Name Car Club in Chesterfield, the Bob Leverich

Racing Team of Kimball and was a founding member of the Kuschel,

McLain and Horning Racing Team. He was an avid car enthusiast and he

loved to travel.

He will be greatly missed by his

family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Laura

Laurie Kuschel of Macomb; sons, Ray Kuschel (Fiancee' Tammy) of

Port Huron and Steve (Michelle) Kuschel of Kimball; step-daughters,

Kim Plumb (John Bowen) of Harrison Twp, Kelly Johnston of Kimball and

Rhonda (Arland) Lockhart of Port Huron; grandchildren, Jake and Miah

Kuschel; step-grandchildren, Marissa & Whitney Plumb and Bradley

& Kyle Basney; mother-in-law, Vivian (John) Pukey of Roseville.

He was preceded in death by his

parents and his brother Raymond.

Memorial Mass will be 10 a.m.

Saturday, October 17, 2009 in St. Joseph Church. The Rev. Brian K.

Cokonougher will officiate. Private family burial of ashes will be in Mt. Hope

Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 2-4 &

7-9 p.m. Friday at Karrer-Simpson funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the wishes of

the family.
