Isabelle M Haddad
Isabelle M. Haddad, 92, of Port Huron and formerly of West Roxbury, Massachusetts, died Thursday, July 21, 2016 after a brief illness.
She was born August 8, 1923 in Zahle, Lebanon to the late Michael and Najla Abou-Taan.
Mrs. Haddad attended high school in Lebanon and moved to the United States in 1960. She taught French and later worked for the Firemans Fund Insurance and Polaroid before moving to Port Huron in 1983.
She was a very social person and was known as the “walking lady”. She was an avid Boston sports fan. She was a member of the Cedar Club in Port Huron and St. Mary Catholic Church.
Mrs. Haddad is survived by her sisters, Mary Rose (Charlie) Ganim of Port Huron Township, Lily Daoud of Lebanon, Marguerite Said of Lebanon and Feriale Hage of Egypt; brother, Elie Abou-Taan of Brazil; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by May Haddad and family of Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nadir Haddad in 1972; parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Sunday.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Monday, July 25, 2016 in St. Mary Catholic Church with visitation from 9:00 am until the Funeral Mass. The Reverend Joseph Gagnon will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
