Joanne Goodrich

Joanne DeCaire Goodrich passed away

Thursday, November 5, 2009.

She was born January 26, 1943 in

Ishpeming, MI to the late Sonny and Mary DeCaire.

From her early life Joanne knew she

wanted to become a teacher and educator and she did so, graduating

from Northern Michigan University with a degree in education, and

later earning her Masters from Wayne State University.

While in college she met her

husband, David A. Goodrich and they were married March 30, 1963 and

soon became a family when their son, Russell D. Goodrich was born.

They moved to Ferndale in 1965 and

then to the Port Huron area in 1966 where Joanne realized her goal in

life and was soon employed by the P.H.A.S.D.

After obtaining her goal and

teaching for 31 years, Joanne retired to her loving family and home.

During retirement she loved to sit outside under her gazebo to read

and observe the wildlife she fed and cared for. There were many

happy family gatherings in her home throughout the years and Joanne

is going to be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her loving

husband of 46 years, David; her son Russell and daughter-in-law,

Cheryl (Koppel); daughter, Michelle Marie (Dionell) Edwards; 6

grandchildren, Austin and Skyler Goodrich, Jennifer (Joel) Rey, Tammy

(Bryan) Storin and Dionell, Jr. and Danielle Allen; a great

grandchild, Mateo Rey; brother, James (Norma) DeCaire; sister,

Denise (Reggie) Lusardi; mother-in-law, Marie Goodrich; 2

sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, several nieces and nephews and a

dear friend, Sandy Schattler.

Joanne was preceded in death by her

daughter, Connie Roberts.

Final arrangements have taken place

and there will be no services or visitation per Joanne's wishes.

Memorials may be made to the charity

of the donor's choice.
