Kirk W. Perley
Kirk W. Perley, 85, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, October 5, 2016 in McLaren - Port Huron.
He was born October 23, 1930 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Kirk and Mildred Perley. He married Marion A. McAffer on June 13, 1953.
He was a 1949 graduate of Goshen High School in Indiana. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a bridge engineer. He was employed at Kroger’s and Ace Hardware for many years and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
He loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Marion; his daughter, Elizabeth N. Perley; his son, David K. (Nan) Perley; two grandchildren, Mallory Perley and Jared Smith; great-grandson, Alexander Brown; and his brother, Glenn (Connie) Perley. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karyn Perley-Smith, two grandchildren, Robert and Ashley Brown, sisters, Marilyn Perley and Christine Irish.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2016 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2016 in Westminster Presbyterian Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Reverend Tim Anderson will officate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church or the Michigan Chapter of Cystic Fibrosis.
