Beverly S Schieman

May 16th, 1942 to October 19th, 2016

Beverly “Sharon” Schieman of Lakeport, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016. She left this world surrounded by her family at her home in North Lakeport.

She was born May 16, 1942 in Port Huron to the late William and Shirley Alexander. She married Dennis “Mike” Schieman on July 20, 1963. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2011.

Sharon was a 1960 graduate of Port Huron High School. She and Dennis lived in the area for most of their lives. Before raising their three children, she was a licensed practical nurse. After her kids were older, she worked in banking and marketing, retiring in 2000 as the Director of Marketing for the Marine City Chamber of Commerce. After her retirement, she volunteered as the school librarian at St. Edward on-the-Lake Catholic Church, where she was an active member and also served on the Altar Society.

She loved her family and friends and spent much time with them and frequently had her children and grandchildren over for holiday dinners and summer cookouts at the beach. She also enjoyed going out with her friends and having book club and game days.

Sharon is survived by her children, Wesley (Rachel) Schieman of Croswell, Linda (Jeff) Anderson of Croswell, and Sherri Lavery and fiancé, Ron Miller of Clyde Township; her grandchildren, Jessica, Jadean, Margaret, Alexander, Dylan, Briana, Chase and Grayson; her sister, Kay (Bill) Zuehlke of Port Sanilac; her brothers, Jim (Bonnie) Alexander of Lewiston, MI and Bill (Joyce) Alexander of Port Huron; several nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Barb (Al) Baker of North Lakeport. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother, Wesley Alexander.

Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016 in St. Edward on-the-Lake Catholic Church with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Reverend Lee Acervo will officiate.

Inurnment will be in Lakeport Cemetery.

Sharon will always be remembered for her resolute determination not to be stopped by stroke-caused limitations, her large hats and her larger heart.

The family request memorials be made to Blue Water Hospice or St. Edward on-the-Lake School Library.
