Edna McFarlane
Edna Mae McFarlane, 93, of Fort Gratiot, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 3, 2016.
She was born August 4, 1923 in Ironwood, MI, to the late Frank and Bertha Jaresky. She married Kenneth S. McFarlane on June 6, 1942 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death in 1990.
Edna retired from Michigan Bell Telephone. She loved being with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by her two sons, Terance (June) McFarlane and Donald (Rosemary) McFarlane of Fort Gratiot; four grandchildren, Robin (Barry) Fenner, Renea Vanlooy, Michelle (Thomas) Archer and Trevor (April) McFarlane; eight great grandchildren, Zachary VanLooy, Steven VanLooy, Lindsey VanLooy, Tori Fenner, Arianna Archer, Ariel Charles, Anastasia Archer and Nicholas Fenner; great-great grandson, Owen VanLooy; three sisters-in-law, Minnie Jaresky, Betty Meyer, Sally Stevens; two brothers-in-law, Clare Bills and Duane Fowler; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Shirley Bills, three brothers, Clyde Jaresky, Francis Jaresky and Howard Jaresky, five sisters-in-law, Virginia Jaresky, Marjorie Sheffer, Margaret Friedland, Bernadine McFarlane, Shirley Fowler, five brothers-in-law, George Friedland, George Sheffer, Eugene McFarlane, Robert Stevens and John Meyer.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2016 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of service at the church. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2016 in St. Mary Catholic Church. The Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Barry and Nicholas Fenner, Zakary and Steven VanLooy, and Thomas and Anastasia Archer. Honorary pallbearers will be Trevor McFarlane and Michelle Archer.
The family prefers memorials be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or the St. Clair County Council on Aging.
