LeRoy J Doyle

LeRoy J. “Joe” Doyle, 84, of Fort Gratiot, died Monday, May 15, 2017, after a long battle with dementia.

He was born February 5, 1933 in Applegate, Michigan to the late Leo and Estella Doyle. He married Phyllis J. McCoy in June of 1956.

LeRoy attended the Ridge Road School House in Applegate and served as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed at Mueller Brass Company, retiring after 34 years of service.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Loyal Order of Moose #158. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida, woodworking, and building birdhouses.

He is survived by his son, Michael Doyle of Fort Gratiot; two siblings, Leslie J (Mary Ann) Doyle of Applegate and Virginia Nechita of St. Clair Shores; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marcella Blake.

Mr. Doyle with lie in state at St. Mary Catholic Church on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. The Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
